Job Shadowing
Wisconsin ACEP will continue to offer our job shadowing program to provide state legislators and other government officials with an opportunity to experience firsthand the issues emergency physicians face on a daily basis. Emergency physicians throughout Wisconsin will be asked to volunteer to host a legislator, and during each visit, the legislator will observe the triage process, potentially overcrowded waiting rooms, and the role of the emergency department as the state universal health safety net. This important project will serve as a first step for emergency physicians and legislators to develop and maintain working relationships with each other. If you are interested in hosting a legislator at your emergency department, contact the Wisconsin ACEP chapter office: 800/838-3627 or by email.
